• Technical debt in data platforms isn't a financial metaphor; it's a direct engineering constraint measured in wasted compute cycles, unnecessary alerts, and long refactors. The modern cloud, with its relentless pace of backward-incompatible changes, acts as a forcing function, turning minor shortcuts into systemic failures.
• We will dissect real-world code and architecture that failed under the weight of its own debt. We'll walk through a detailed post-mortem of a migration gone wrong and simulate how a single version deprecation can cripple a data platform.
